NDUGA - In a heartwarming display of community spirit, soldiers from the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA are making a difference in Arugia Village, Nduga Regency. On October 18, 2024, the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 432, led by First Lieutenant Fahrizal, engaged with local residents while conducting their security operations near the Indonesia-Papua New Guinea border.
This initiative, part of their Social Communication (Komsos) efforts, aims to strengthen relationships between the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and the local community, supporting the government’s goal of enhancing development in Papua. Lieutenant Colonel Zulfikar Akbar Helmi, Commander of the 432 Task Forces, highlighted the importance of addressing the community's needs.
At the Immanuel Church, soldiers and residents came together to practice music, preparing for the upcoming Sunday Service. Local resident Ham Murib expressed his appreciation, saying, “Thank you, Commander 432. We are happy to practice music together. God bless.” His words reflect the positive impact of this collaboration, fostering unity and support within the community.
Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, the HABEMA Commanding General, praised the 432 Task Forces for their efforts, stating, “This initiative shows TNI’s commitment to inclusive communication with all stakeholders, promoting development in the Papua region.” His acknowledgment underscores the importance of such activities in building a brighter future for the area.
Together, through music and camaraderie, soldiers and residents are creating harmony that extends beyond mere security, paving the way for a thriving community.
